Sept. 18 Kimochi Update from Mme Kelsey

Meet Lovey Dove and Turtle Dove!

This week, students were introduced to Lovey Dove and her son, Turtle Dove, the next Kimochis® characters in our journey. Lovey Dove introduced us to the feelings of proud, happy, kind, and hopeful. Students had fun acting out these feelings and sharing them with their classmates.

Together, we brainstormed meaningful “action-forward” ways to bring these feelings into our daily lives—showing kindness to others, celebrating moments that make us feel proud, finding joy in everyday experiences, and staying hopeful when things feel tough.

Lovey Dove reminded us that these positive feelings can help us build strong friendships and a caring classroom community!

Sept. 12 Kimochi Update from Mme Kelsey

Meet Our New Friend, Bug!

This week, students were introduced to Bug, our first Kimochis® character. Bug helped us explore the feelings of being shy, left out, and brave. Together, we shared stories about times when we have felt these emotions and practiced connecting with one another by learning each classmate’s name and something they love.

To carry Bug’s lesson forward, students were given a challenge: to try doing something brave—either at home or at school. We look forward to hearing about their brave moments as they continue building confidence and friendships! Families are challenged to try something brave at home as well!
